Why Radio for Lefties?
Radio has qualities that appeal specifically to anyone critical of capitalism and the government. Two-way radio lets us communicate and organize horizontally: without depending on the state, business, non-profits... not even cell service, the internet, or the power grid! (if you have some batteries charged beforehand)
Why a Lefty Radio League?
Radio can also have a steep learning curve. There are ways in which communicating by radio differs from communicating by cell phone or email that can make it hard to understand what's going wrong when it fails -- much less correct it.
Most of us learn best in community. The Lefty Radio League is a community for a wide range of leftists to come together and learn to use radio in a friendly, supportive, inclusive environment; we define "the left" loosely as those of us who believe that capitalism is not compatible with democracy / freedom / human dignity.
